I really want to encourage you to come to Chelsea Town Hall over the coming days, for the 67th Open Exhibition of the Chelsea Art Society. The show opens to the public tomorrow but will be formally opened tonight by the Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea. Please do come along and have a look. There are nearly 450 paintings and prints, and nearly 100 sculptures in the show, many of the works having been selected by committee from a much larger pool of submissions.

You can see a list of exhibitors, exhibits and prize winners, as well as all the details of opening times on our website: http://chelseaartsociety.org.uk/index.php/cas-exhibition#catalogue

It’s a humbling and wonderful experience working alongside so many dedicated and diverse artists to make the show come together, and I have very much enjoyed the last two days. Above all, I am very grateful to all those non-members who have dared to submit work and to expose themselves in this way. It’s a difficult thing to do but hopefully worth it. One of the most pleasurable duties I have yet had as President has been to ring all the prize winners to give them the good news. It really does epitomise what the CAS is there for- to nurture and encourage people who might otherwise not exhibit or consider themselves worthy.

We are open daily from Thursday to Monday, Thursday 10am to 7pm, Friday 10am to 7pm, Saturday 10am to 7pm, Sunday 10am to 5pm, Monday 10am to 2pm.
