5 artists in Venice at the Chelsea Art Society

14 Jun 2015

At Chelsea Old Town Hall, Kings Road from Thursday 18th June to Monday 22nd June, Thursday- Saturday 10am to 7pm, Sunday 10am to 5pm, Monday 10am to 2pm.

This week the Chelsea Art Society has its 68th annual open exhibition, and as a sort of showcase of some of the variety on offer within the Society we present work by a group of painters on a Venetian theme.

5 artists, 20 pictures, Venice in all lights and times of the day- from Susie Elliott’s sensitive Turneresque evocations of the Grand Canal to Alice Hall’s bold impasto compositions, there will surely be something for everyone. Christopher Miers will be showing his delicate and assured oils of views across the lagoon from the Riva dei Schiavoni, Louise Diggle her beautiful responses in luminous pastel. As for me, I am still agonising over whether I have put the right ones in. What do you think?
