Venice, portraits, and prints for Spring

05 Mar 2015

I have just delivered a new portrait- having made the final touches. I am very pleased with this one, as it has a lovely sense of light and life. Oil on canvas, 24 by 16 ins. Portrait of a girl 16 by 24 ins 2015

It’s been a slow start to the year. Decorators in, all manner of January-based excuses for not being that fired up. But next week, off to Venice. 12 days there in fact, which ought to be enough to get something done! I am going with a group of elite landscape artists, hand-picked from the ranks of the Chelsea Art Society, and we will hope to post the odd bulletin on our brand new Facebook page whilst out there. Speaking of Venice, I am also taking part in an exhibition in aid of Venice in Peril at the Osborne Studio Gallery in Motcomb Street, Belgravia which opens on 24th March. Let me know if you’d like to come. I will post something to Facebook about this nearer the time. In the meantime, please don’t miss out on the chance to order one of those prints ahead of Mothers Day, as I won’t be able to fulfil orders after Wednesday next week- I will be far too busy choosing which brushes to take with me, and practising how to order macchiato with the correct Venetian accent.
